Create messaging for five of the selected organization’s publics in the scenarios outlined below. Choose one message delivery method per public.
Review the example press release located on your student website for an example of one type of messaging for this assignment.
Internal publics
Employees: Promote a new green ecological awareness campaign.
Shareholders: Announce the new chief executive officer to shareholders. Refer to the Public Relations Internet Challenge in Ch. 18 of The Practice of Public Relations for information about investor relations.
External publics
Media: Respond to a crisis and develop a plan for an online pressroom. Additionally, explain how you may use the Internet to implement this part of the plan.
Consumers: Promote a new product or service to the existing customer base. The product must be consistent with organizational goals.
Community: Address how the organization’s employees may contribute positively to the community. Describe how this contribution meets public relations goals, and how it will be communicated and promoted to the organization’s publics. Refer to Community Social Responsibility and Community Relations on the Internet in Ch. 12 of The Practice of Public Relations for useful information.
