1.Research and compare cellular 3G implementations (CDMA) with 4G – LTE-Advanced, speak to the differences from a technological viewpoint, particularly multiplexing and error correction.
3G stands for (third generation) as it is the third signal type made for cell phone signal technology available. [ CITATION Sim15 \l 1033 ] It was first launched in the UK in 2003 by Hutchinson 3G.
A 3G signal has the capability to transfer data at speeds between 128 to 144 Kbps for fast moving devices, and 384 Kbps for slower ones. The standard that 3G uses is Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) which is able to multiplex 64 calls per channel in a 800 MHz band. [ CITATION Mar181 \l 1033 ]
After 3G there is 4G LTE which stands for Long Term Evolution. 4G LTE is the fourth type cell phone signal for wireless signal technology. It works similar to 3G, only the standard that it uses is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). OFDM is a standard used for transmitting large amounts of data through a radio wave.
It splits a single radio wave into multiple sub-signals, and then are simultaneously transmitted at different frequencies out to a receiver. [ CITATION Web \l 1033 ]
