Using the assignment template, identify at least three reasons that employee motivation sometimes wanes.

Keeping employees motivated is a key part of being an effective leader. Many factors canaffect an employee’s motivation and their productivity at work.

One factor is when a leader makes their employee feel disempowered. (Bateman, Snell, Konopaske) This is where the leader does not share any power with his inferiors or making the employees feel as if they have no power and their opinion is irrelevant.

Giving employees chances to share their ideas and opinions about decisions being made by their superior can make them feel more confident in their ability to do their job and contribute positively to their company. (Bateman,Snell, Konopaske)
