Midway USA Analysis

MidwayUSA is a internet retailer that specializes in selling everything you would need to be outdoors. As a company they employ more then 350 people and service over a million customers aroundthe United States. As a company they offer a choice of one hundred and then thousand different products all of which are supplied by their over eight hundred suppliers.

The company is known for hiring people all of which have a passion for the outdoors that way they can better help the customers purchase what they need to purchase. They picked up the criteria of performance excellence in the year of 2006, and since they have done this they have not only won just one award but in fact they have won two, with the first award being won in the year of 2009.

Something that the company has done that is strategic for their company and allowed them to win not only one award but two would be that they focused on customer satisfaction, this is the most important to the company everything that they are working on as a company is for the good of the customers that they serve every day, and while they have a way that works they are always looking at making things better for the customers and willing to take feedback .

They take pride in putting their customers first while meeting all of the needs they need to meet from making sure that their prices are always competitive but that the customer is also getting what they order in a timely manner without having to pay a bunch of money in order to make this possible.

The second strategic thing that they have done is to make sure that their employees are not only satisfied with the work they are doing but engaged with the company by offering a competitive salary and many advancement opportunities it keeps everyone interested in the work that they are doing, plus they get to input with the people in charge on decision making things within the company. A third thing that they do is make sure that they

have a good relationship with their suppliers and other partners within the company. They do this by keeping the line f communication open and always make sure that they are making their payments on time and that they are accurate to make sure that the relationship is good and the suppliers do not have any issues with Midway USA.

Midway USA uses the performance kind of competitive advantage as a company they focus on everything performance while making sure everything is always the best it can be for the company. Something that the company does to encourage high performance within the workforce is offer rewards to their employees such as free lunches and shorting activities.

By doing this it makes sure that the employees have something to work towards while offering a fun amount of completion between
