Within the reading this week I found the section on infant crying interesting. It discusses how crying is a way babies can communicate with their caregivers. Infant crying is an important type of communication that is necessary for infants to convey their needs.
There various cries are intended to alert the caregiver or parents to the specific need of the infant at that time. It helpsthe parent or caregiver meet the needs of the infant. The chapter discusses three different types ofcries that an infant does. They are categorized as a basic cry, anger cry, and pain cry.

Within the chapter there is a detailed explanation of each cry and the characteristics they possess and how they differ. Being a mother, I can remember when my children would cry as infants. It was quickly I was able to determine what they may want by the type of cry they had.
My son is my oldest and as a new mother it was a learning curve to say the least. I can remember a specific instance of being in the car on the way home from a family members house. He was overdue for his feeding
