PSY638 PSY 638 PSY/638 DQ 9. Docx- Snhu

After reading the Module Nine articles, address the various child and adolescent learning disorders and propose a new industry standard for educators and school districts. Highlight the different methodologies available and justify one for the new industry standards you are proposing. Take into account what offerings are currently available and how school districts, teachers, and administration can help to improve overall school achievement. Discuss the child and adolescent development resources in the educational support system which should encompass accessibility, organizational structure, and funding to support a newly implemented industry standard. In response to your peers, evaluate their proposals and highlight their proposal’s biggest strengths and biggest weaknesses. Offer one suggestion on how to improve the weakness you noted. It is thought that perhaps 17% of the population has a learning disability. Children with learning disabilities have difficulty integrating their disability into their emerging self-concept and may resort to denial or become harsh self-critics, which can increase their propensity toward lifetime psychiatric disorders (Lange & Thompson, 2006). These children being able to be in environments that are more conducive to learning with their disorders will go a long way in easing some difficulties.

These children being able to be in environments that are more conducive to learning with their disorders will go a long way in easing some difficulties. One of the most important questions for education is classroom placement. With the prevalence of learning disorders, it is important for schools and education boards to consider how to best provide education for those with learning disabilities. There seems to be a lot of evidence for the use of inclusive (blended) classroom settings for children and adolescents (Core et al., 2008). It has always been my thought that blended classrooms are better than non-inclusive ones because they not only help children with learning disorders by being around children without learning disorders but the other way around. The world is a mixed pot of many different people. If children are placed in non-inclusive classrooms and then go to college, while they may have someone who can assist them by taking notes or recording lectures, they will be in blended classrooms.
