PART 1: ABOUT ME

Answer the following questions to capture how you see yourself, in terms of values, aspirations, key qualities, goals, strengths, and areas of growth:

1) Find a quote or saying that captures your values, motivations, and aspirations and share it here. I don’t know who wrote this quote, but I saw it on Facebook and saved it to my phone.

It says: “The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us, I like this quote, because Ithink it characterizes a lot of us women who are mothers, wives, aunts, sisters, etc. We go through so much trying to make sure everyone is ok, we often neglect ourselves.

Things can be falling apart around us, but the world would never know with the smiles we always have on our faces.

2) Describe some of your main personal, academic, and professional goals.One of my academic goals is continue with the straight A’s I have earned as a student at Strayer, stay on the President’s List, as well as show my kids that it’s never to late to reach your dreams and to continue to strive to be their best.

I’m going to take honors courses so that I can graduate with honors. I also want to prove to myself, because I know I can do it. That would be one of my main goals as well. To be one of my mother’s only children to graduate college. Not just to be a mother and a wife, but my own identity.

A professional goal of mines is to have my own food spot, and maybe a small building where I sell food from 12-630pm. I want to do hot plate dinners and crawfish boils.

I’m from Louisiana where they will pay you to boil crawfish for them. Living in Houston, why not bring Louisiana flavor in my way!. My husband and I will work for ourselves and own our own business.
