Describe the compensation philosophy of Maersk and how the market influences this philosophy.

Compensation is one of the main reasons that employees seek to be employed.

It is one the first assets that employees will look into when deciding, if a job is the right fit. Employees who are compensated well seem to feel as though they are assets to the company and that their work is valued.

In an employer’s view, compensation is one of the largest expenses that the company will have and therefore the employer has a different view on compensation.

A compensation philosophy is simply a formal statement documenting the company’s position about the employee compensation (SHRM). Maersk focus is training and ensuring the right person is selected for the job.

The talent management process helps with the plan, the mission and vision of the HR compensation philosophy. Maesrk strongly reinforced the commitment to
