PSY 108: Final Project Guidelines and Rubric Overview

The final project for this course is the creation of a stress management action plan.

A popular area of focus in psychology is the role of stress in people’s livesand the impact that stress can have on the body. The major project that you will engage in in this class is writing a stress management action plan where you will demonstrate your knowledge of the topic of stress and apply it to your life by identifying your personal areas of stress and developing a plan to manage that stress.

This project is designed to help you learn about this very important topic in psychology, provide an opportunity to engage in academic writing and strengthen your skills in the same, and also to be of assistance to you personally. The project is divided into five milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions.

These milestones will be submitted in Modules Two, Three, Four, and Six. The final submission will occur in Module Eight. In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:

Relate basic psychological concepts and terminology to one’s own experience in order to explicate the relevance of psychologyto daily life

Analyze various applications of psychological principles and empirical findings in other fields of study Determine appropriate applications of the scientific method in studies of human behavior and related areas of psychology

Explain how the study and practice of psychology can impact one’s personal and career goals
