Personality as a predictor of coping efforts in patients with multiple sclerosis research article showed the five-factor personality model and the coping effects used for patients with multiple sclerosis and chronic diseases. The article did not mention cost, but it did mention that none of the MS patients nor the control subject patients were paid for their participation. A total of 49 patients participated and there was “no significant difference between patients and control subject patients in the measures of personality dimensions.” In my opinion, it is practical to show the different coping techniques that people deal with chronic. When I wake up every morning, I follow my daily ritual and head to the kitchen to make my first cup of coffee. Enjoying that first cup of coffee, I think about the challenges and rewards that the day will present. I know that when I head off to school I am going to have to work hard while learning more. Following my first cup of coffee, I head into the bathroom and it is at that point that I look into the mirror. The person I see is motivated, dedicated, reliable, persistent, passionate, emotional, and family-oriented. I am happy with the person that I am and even happier with the person that I am not.

I don’t categorize myself as a lazy, indecisive, disloyal, thoughtless, or self-absorbed person. While looking in the mirror, I would like to see a more confident and self-assured person. Starting the day seeing what I am, what I’m not, and what I want to set me off facing the challenges coming. One final glance in the mirror makes me think wow my hair is a mess. Taking the first look in the mirror, the person I see in my reflection is a motivated, hardworking, and dedicated person. I consider myself to be these things because when I was in third grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability and school was never something that came easy to me. I spent years being separated from my friends due to being in a special classroom and began feeling the pressure that I was different from all my friends. Then, I finally met a teacher in my high school career who pushed me beyond my limits and showed me that I was capable of doing anything I set out to do.

When I got to eleventh grade, I finally became classified due to all my hard work and effort that led to me becoming a double major in my college career. I also see a person who is family-oriented. I come from a very big traditional Italian family and Sunday dinners are an important custom in my family. Every Sunday no matter how busy we are, we always make sure we spend dinners together. I consistently make sure that I see my grandparents at least once a week, and I keep in touch with all my cousins on a weekly basis. Lastly, I see an emotional and passionate person every morning. I feel passionate about my opinions and values and tend to get emotional in defense of my feelings. I am proud of the things that I am and happy for the things I am not that I know would have held me back.
