Literature Review: What appears to be the consensus among all the research studies assigned as well as additional studies learned, is that most clinicians prefer to utilize psychological interventions as the primary source of therapy treatment, as is the case with all mood, anxiety, and related disorders while using pharmacotherapy treatments to help control the symptoms of the disorders, reduce relapse rates and improve overall functioning in some of the disorders (Hunsley et al, 2014). Currently, clinicians use the Diagnostic and1Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM-5) in an effort to define and classify mental disorders in order to improve diagnoses, treatment, and research (APA,2013). Clinicians will utilize the DSM-5 along with several assessment tools (CAPS, CPT, etc.), questionnaires, and evaluation tests, to garner the necessary information such: as pretreatment characteristics and future treatment outcomes, in order to more effectively select the appropriate care for their patients (Walter et al, 2014). The psychotherapy of choice, which seems to be the most effective and preferred among clinicians in the studies assigned, is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can be delivered in both an individual and group format.

Mood symptoms also precede the occurrence of life events, but no differences were found between BD I and II patients (Koenders et al, 2014). Life events are described as, issues or events pertaining to Employment, Education, Financial Status, Somatic Health, Loss, Living Place Relationship, Criminality, Family, and social problems (Koenders et al, 2014).In patients suffering from Post-Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), what these patients have experienced in connection with their employment, in service during battle, or any traumatic event in the general course of their lives, will contribute greatly to the development of any psychological disorders (Walter etal, 2014).In patients suffering from childhood Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), the studies have indicated that childhood ODDwas associated with abusive child /parent relationships and discordant relationships with teacher/school and/or peers (Nordahl et al, 2010).In contrast, childhood GAD was associated with parental overprotection, parental pressures, inadequate supervision/control, and acute threats. These results indicate that specific psychosocial dimensions are differentially related to childhood GAD and ODD (Nordahl et al, 2010).
